DIY Growth Chart
DIY Growth Chart, time to ditch writing on the wall and make a keepsake that will last forever!

Since we moved into our house, our kids have been marking their heights on the wall in my dining room. Yes you heard that and you can see it below.

They love being able to see how much they grew from the year prior, or when they are getting close to passing a sibling or me they check more often. Well the time may come where we will be painting over this when we do our kitchen hopefully this year, so James wanted to make something more permanent.

It is time to get crafty and make a growth chart! We are using our Cricut Joy Extra, and my favorite Cricuts Design Space. Can I tell you why I love it besides the fact that its so easy to use, it takes the guess work out of starting a project! All I did was search up ” Growth chart ” and I found the one that works best for me!
We cut out all the numbers, letters and lines we needed using the Cricut Joy Extra and now it was time for James to take over this project.

We found the cheapest piece of nice would we could at our local lumber yard Westside Building Supply, can I tell you how expensive a nice finished piece of wood is? Insane, but we found this piece that has been finished and glued together and it was perfect! For a 10ft piece it was $42 which was amazing! It was time to cut it!

I was good with it how it was, but James is a perfectionist when it comes to his work and this is his project so he took out his sander and sanded it.

When finished with the sanding, he really wanted to go all out and used a router on the sides. I do have to say it turned out so great and now for the best part!

It was so fun to see James get into using all the Cricut items! I have never used the transfer tape – I know I know… so he taught me and can I say what a GAME CHANGER!! It is a must and I don’t think I can do without for a project like this.

Time to figure out all the measurements so we get the vinyl just right!

The transfer tape and vinyl are on, and its time to get to work!

Do you see how amazing its looking, I cannot wait for the kids to see!

We decided to add the Wagner’s to it. I told James the measurements on how tall I wanted can you see he should never trust me on those.

Look how amazing it turned out! Now who do you think will pass him on the chart? I have three kids who passed me already so now its a race against James!

Rosie was excited to check out the growth chart too! Yes I fixed The Wagners the right way below! Opps!
Now how do we add the kids dates?

I added arrows, and color coded them for each kid then put the exact height because we can’t miss out on the halfs and three quarters.

Here is the final view, and we will have to keep watching who gets the tallest!
