St. Nicholas Day – Sankt Nikolaus Tradition
St. Nicholas Day aka Sankt Nikolaus tradition has been so fun for the kids through the years and so special to me.
The night of December 5th it is time to put out a boot (some may do two but we have always done one.) That night Sankt Nikolaus comes and fills the boots with goodies! The morning of December 6th the kids wake up and get their special treats and presents ( think stocking.)
I grew up doing this tradition with my parents so this is really special for me and brings back so many memories. I was born in Germany and my mom grew up doing this tradition too! We didn’t grow up with Krampus or Knecht Ruprecht thankfully – so my kids have no clue just the fun Sankt Nikolaus aka St. Nicholas.
