Outdoor Dining Ideas-Autumn Entertaining

Sharing is caring!

Outdoor dining ideas which turns into magical Autumn entertaining. Dreaming of an amazing fall night filled with family and friends.

A special thanks to my photographer Allison Colacurcio A.ColaPhotography and to Trailblazherco for the feature in their magazine which you can order on Trailblazher. Don’t miss this post too!

It is all in the details. Whether you are doing something for your kids, significant other, or friends, remember it’s the simple things that matter the most.

I hope as you look through these outdoor dining photos and read through the words you can take a moment to think about that time you felt welcome at someones table or when you hosted and just ended the night feeling so much goodness. That is what is all about and honestly our BIG dream for our property. To let others come JOIN our tables and feel welcome.

We created these gorgeous tables and didn’t have plans for anyone to come join us. I don’t have a lot of friends being newer in the area – its more neighbors and acquaintances. I can’t wait for the day to fill these tables with people that will turn into a friend. Then that left us as we took it down – you don’t have to be the one to wait to be invited just invite set up the table and enjoy!

Setting up these tables it was some things we had, new, borrowed, and some flowers we hand cut. Just remember as you are planning your tables setting it doesn’t need to cost much or anything at all.

Candles make everything magical especially for autumn entertaining. The crisp cool leaves falling, the coolness in the air, adding a soup to the menu sounds like perfection!

A table created for 6, but room for so much more.

Outdoor Dining Ideas :

  1. Set the mood – during the day or night.
  2. Table – this is all on how many you have and you can even use a card table add some fabric or tablecloth! Miss match chairs work too – it does not need to be perfect.
  3. Pick the perfect spot wether it be on a deck, in the grass, garden, in a cove of trees.
  4. Menu – keep it simple or go all out but a printed menu makes it extra special.
  5. Drinks – read the room for this. You can start with water and some nice ice and fruit/garnish and do hot or cold and decide on if adult beverages,
  6. Decor – Keep it simple and make sure not to tall so guests can see each other.
  7. Lighting – candles, twinkle lights all will make it magical
  8. Have a plan, but its ok to not stick with it!
  9. If you have new friends or even old – some fun conversation cards always help!
  10. Have fun

Now are you ready for more gorgeous photos?

Sunflowers fresh from the garden with some dried lavender and winged everlasting.

Holding onto the dahlias as long as we can this season, I am ready to let them go but that means all the cheer they bring me and so many others will have to wait till next year.

The candles are everything, I wish you could smell the beeswax.

The magical autumn glow, knowing the daylight is getting shorter and the seasons are changing.

Now I am planning for our next tablescape, Friendsgiving?

Hopefully this post on Outdoor Dining Ideas-Autumn Entertaining inspired you, gave some ideas or let you be excited to go out of your comfort zone to host!
