Christmas Cottage Home Tour {Part 1}

Sharing is caring!

I am ready to show you our Christmas Cottage. As I write this… I have my favorite movie “The Holiday” playing in the background and it always reminds me of Christmas. I love the warm and cozy cottage in the movie, and thats what I dream for my home to feel like! Today I will show you how I have tried to encompass that feeling.

When you walk into my home you will first be greeted by this view. You won’t find a lot of traditonal pops of reds instead you will see mostly neutrals! I have learned that you need to do what works for you and what makes your heart happy, and this my friends makes mine!

I love having the fireplace next to our table, while this fireplace doesn’t put off much heat I love how cozy it makes the room! We had a wall that closed off this area and it has changed this space so much!

If you are like me while looking for your home, you have to imagine where your “tree spot” will be, or it may make you second guess the house! Thankfully even with the change I can still make it work.

I have had this console table for awhile, and I think everything in my house plays “musical’ decor but it has found its spot! I love when having guests over I can use it for entertaining. It is so nice to be able to put extra food or dishes on it!

Since this photo was taken, the wall has transformed and I can’t wait to show you what I have done – but you will just have to wait! I love this sign from Harper Grayce so much and you can check out a blogpost I did for A Blissful Nest and see the hot cocoa bar that went with it!The sign has moved to my kids room and its just what it needed!

I did a similar tablescape for fall and it was so fun to be able to change it with these amazing candle sticks!

Now you are standing on the other side of the room, this is the view you will see. If you are new here, you will notice that our dining room isn’t very traditional but it works for us! This used to be a sitting room, but with a house thats just about 1200sq ft and 6 people living in it we have learned to use every inch to the best that we could!

Over the summer we added these shelves and they have been so fun to style for each season! My goal has been to simplify and it feels so great to not get stressed by to much stuff!

Now here I go with a little more red, but who could resist these plates! You won’t believe where they are from – Walmart! Yes I said it right, they are the Better Homes and Gardens Live Better line!  Now we have less than a week till Christmas I better go finish setting the table! Thank you so much for joining me on this tour! Check back this week for the rest!
