Home Theater reveal, but I am not sure if I like the word theatre I feel like more movie room vibes. I am LOVING IT!
This is a photo of our first night watching a movie, nothing was complete but these cozy Faux leather loungers from Pottery Barn Teen stole the show. So cozy and perfect way to add extra seating especially since we always have revolving doors open.

Ok I can’t give it away all at once! We have floors but more importantly a little candy set up in our little cart with a popcorn machine ready for magical nights! Cozy blankets and some extra seating! Pottery Barn Teen for the win!
After weeks of building, framing, and designing, it’s finally time to reveal our home theater room and it might be one of our favorite spaces in the house.
What started as an open area with no wall is now a cozy, functional space where we can gather for family movie nights, weekend hangouts, and hosting friends.
And while I love every detail in this room, the biggest game changer?
The seating.
Creating a Home Theater Room That Feels Cozy and Functional
When we started designing this space, we knew one thing for sure—we didn’t want it to feel overcrowded.
We wanted a space that felt:
- Comfortable
- Open
- Flexible for both family nights and hosting
We still wanted that cozy, sink-in feel… just without sacrificing space. So a mix of sofas, theater chairs, and these cozy leather lounge bags.
We added two main theater chairs, but added leather lounge bags from Pottery Barn Teen to create extra seating—and it was the best decision.
Why we love this setup:

Now we can have everyone pile in without worrying about space—and it still feels intentional and styled.

Moody Walls + Movie Posters = The Perfect Theater Feel
One of my favorite design choices in this room is the moody dark wall paired with movie posters.
It instantly gives that cinematic feel, while still keeping the space personal and fun.
Why it works:
- Dark walls create a true theater atmosphere
- Movie posters add personality and make it feel lived-in
- It ties the entire room together visually
It’s simple, but it makes such a big impact.
A Space Designed for Real Life
At the end of the day, this room isn’t just a “project”—it’s a space we actually use.
It’s where we:
- Watch movies together
- Hang out with friends
- Slow down after busy days
- Create those everyday moments that turn into memories
And having flexible seating means it grows with us, whether it’s just our family or a full house.
